Rabbi Ehrenberg has been connected with several communities and with the building of Orthodox Jewish life.

- Rabbi of the Jewish Community of Berlin since 1997.
- Munich
- Community rabbi of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde München from 1989 to 1997.
- Vienna
- Rabbi of the Mizrachi community in Vienna from 1983 to 1989.
- Conference of European Rabbis
- Member of the standing committee of the Conference of European Rabbis.
- Orthodox Rabbinical Conference of Germany
- Co-founder of the ORD in 2003 and its chairman until 2010.
